GDS Information

Global Distribution Systems (GDS)
A computer reservations system CRS is a computerized system used to store and retrieve information and conduct transactions related to air travel. Originally designed and operated by airlines, CRSes were later extended for the use of travel agencies; major CRS operations that book and sell tickets for multiple airlines are known as global distribution systems (GDS). Airlines have divested most of their direct holdings to dedicated GDS companies, who make their systems accessible to consumers through Internet gateways. Modern GDSes typically allow users to book hotel rooms as well.

Commission
Commission payments are made for those reservations booked through the GDS. Padma Resort Bali At Legian will pay up to 10 percent commission on all commissionable rates for all nights of a stay.
NOTE: Due to seasonal rate changes, special restrictions, and a limited amount of space all rates cannot be displayed.

Commission Payment
To Improve Travel Agent Loyalty, Padma Resort Bali At Legian is now using Travel Agency Commission Settlement (TACS) Service by Perot System. Padma Resort Bali At Legian centrally calculates commissions and sends records to TACS for the weekly payment run based on the hotels’ daily checkout records and payments should generally be received 30 days after guest checkout.

TACS is an online resource for agencies and hotels to track their incoming and outgoing commissions and process future meeting planner commissions, at www.tacsnet.com. Without any membership fees, all agents will receive preferred status and be able to take advantage of many new features that TACSnet has to offer for travel agencies.

Travel Agency Features:

  1. Look up commission detail for a particular guest - Looking for the status or detail of a particular guest stay? Just enter a last name, arrival date, and hotel chain.
  2. Look up detailed commission information for a check - Did you misplace your payment statement? Not a problem. Just enter a TACS check number and you can view summary or detailed information about your payment. Use this information to help reconcile your commissions.
  3. Look up detailed commission information for a statement - Did you misplace your payment statement? Not a problem. Just enter a TACS statement number and you can view summary or detailed information about your payment. Use this information to help reconcile your commissions.
  4. Run a payment report - You can run a report for a specific date range and get all of your commissions per hotel or hotel chain. Wouldn't that be helpful!
  5. Submit customer service comments and/or requests - Can't find the information you need? Send our customer service representatives a message or comment.

Recommendations for Agents

  1. Register With an Industry Association.  Padma Resort Bali At Legian only pays bona fide agencies who are registered with an accredited organisation such as International Air Transport Association (IATA) .  The use of pseudo-IATA numbers is severely restricted for control and regulatory reasons.  Agents must quote their membership number when booking.
  2. Preferred Credit card for GDS bookings.  Agents should book the room on behalf of the guest using the guest's credit card.
  3. Do Not “Deduct Commissions at Source”.  Padma Resort Bali At Legian does not support this for individual guest stays due to potential duplication of payments through TACS.  Direct-billed companies should pay in full, and the hotel should pay the commission through TACS.  Exceptions require explicit hotel agreement, subject to a strict internal approval process.
  4. Register Payment, Reporting and User Preferences with TACS.  Agents should go to http://ce.tacsnet.com to register for electronic payments and statements, and select preferences, including payment method (wire, bank transfer, ACH or cheque), currency, frequency and consolidated payments for multiple branches.  Agents must ‘register’ in order to have TACS verify their identity in order to provide access to their payment records online.  Agents should also provide TACS with details of users who should have access to researching and opening inquiries for various IATA numbers. There is no registration fee.
  5. Reconcile Payments and Reporting Records with Booking Files.  TACS provides agents with a detailed file of all transactions processed by Padma Resort Bali At Legian, including non-commissionable records, no-shows and cancellations.  Agents should reconcile this against their booking files.
  6. Research Payments on TACSnet.  After reconciling the TACS reports with their booking files, agents should research unreconciled transactions or missing payments on TACSnet.
  7. Log Inquiries with TACS.   Inquiries can be loaded directly through http://ce.tacsnet.com, emailed to tacs.customerservice@ps.net, faxed to +1-703-480-6917 or raised by telephone at 1.800.873.1215 ( US and Canada ) or +1-703-480-6916 ( Outside US and Canada ).  TACS will research inquiries against Padma Resort Bali At Legian ’s checkout and payment records, and forward unresolved inquiries to hotels for investigation.  Nonetheless, agents should log inquiries with TACS, not directly with Padma, so that Padma can track inquiries, investigate problem, and close payment for expired inquiries.
  8. Identify Disputed Commissions Separately from Standard Inquiries.  Agents may raise disputes where they have evidence that contradicts Padma’s reported payment amount, number of rooms, room nights, commissionable status, no-shows or cancellations.  Agents must advise TACS they are raising a dispute, not an inquiry, by email, fax or telephone with details of the records.  Failure to do so may result in the disputed record simply being closed as previously reported.
  9. Advise TACS of Agency Address Changes.  Provide full detail to tacs.customerservice@ps.net, faxed to +1-703-480-6917 or raised by telephone at 1.800.873.1215 ( US and Canada ) or +1-703-480-6916 ( Outside US and Canada ).
  10. Contact Padma Resort Bali At Legian With Questions.  Agents should direct any questions to reservation@padmaresortbali.com.
NOTE: payment inquiries must be logged with TACS, not Padma, as the first point of contact.
